My New Favorite Quote

"It's kind of fun to do the impossible!"
                             Walt Disney

Steel Magnolia

She said, "I'll be your steel magnolia."
He said, "What about my green tomato?"

What do you think that means?

What's a Thursday?

He said, "It's only Thursday."
She said, "It's Friday Eve!"

Society for the Preservation of Tangibility

There's a great article in the August/September 2011 issue of Garden and Gun magazine www.gardenandgun.com about writer  Wendell Berry. Excerpt "...All of this seems to inspire Wendell to reveal his plans to found another subversive cabal: the Society for the Preservation of Tangibility. ... In a culture of avatars, electronic friends, and financial "products" that have no basis in reality... "Berry says, 'Anyone can join.'... "There are no dues, no meetings, no fund drives, no newsletters. There is only a state of mind, a desire to preserve what's authentic, what holds substance, what aspires to the whole."

Let's do something today that is in-the-moment and simply real.  Share.

Utensils in the Road?

I know so many people who say, “No, we’ve already passed it, can't turn around now.” I’ve always wondered about the rigidity of that kind of thinking. The other day, I got an email from a friend. He said, “If you miss the fork in the road, turn around and take it immediately.” I have to say, I like that. If you didn’t take the fork for some preconceived notion, but you’re still intrigued with it, turn around and take it! Don’t you think?
